Although it is not customary for many Dutch people to drink at lunchtime, situations always arise that require accompaniment with a glass of wine. Cider and poiré are excellent alternatives for this, because they are a lot lower in terms of alcohol percentage.
Ferme de la Poulardiere Poiré Domfront AOP
A nice fresh alternative to a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Fresh acidity, a little bit of minerals and a little bit of pear sweetness. With only 4% alcohol, this organic poiré from the Domfront area can be combined nicely with a fresh salad, a fish dish with a not too heavy sauce or a poultry dish.
Dutch cider from the Redlove apple with a fresh acidity. Accessible with also a small apple sweet. Delicious as an aperitif, but also a great option to accompany a lunch with fish or white meat.
